a light in the dark...

hey, Pat Robertson, i just got off the phone with Jesus. He told me to tell you to start acting like a Christian. i told the man to tell you himself, but he says he stopped talking to you years ago. i mean; the 700 Club made you millions of dollars and a national celebrity, you even ran for President for a short time a bunch of years ago, why trash Haiti when you should be doing what the man you call your savior has asked of you. How can you call yourself a Christian? How could you possibly along with your million dollar ministry friends call yourselves Christians?...

i heard a story that Samuel Dalembert, center for the Philadelphia 76ers and Haiti native announced an initial donation to the Haiti Relief Effort of $100,000. Now i know Pat, he is making $12 mil this year and will $13 mil the next. Its a drop in the bucket for sure. But in 10 years Dalembert won't have that kind of paycheck coming his way, in fact i doubt he will receive a salary the amount of that initial donation after he retires or is released from the NBA. There will be no coaching job or ESPN gig, when his career is over so is the paycheck. But there he is donating what could be the price of one of his children's college educations to the relief effort in Haiti. You, Pat, are spending you afternoons spitting vitriol in the name of god. When does the hypocrisy end?...

Actress Alyssa Milano is asking, no, charging corporations to equal, just equal her donation amount of $50,000. Shit, Bristol Myers Squibb should be flying a few of their private jets filled with medical supplies free of charge down to Port Au Prince. Let me get this straight, Pat, Haiti, because of their lack of identity and education, mostly due unrest created from fear, are devils. The minority population that hangs on to the idea of voodoo, because it all of their culture they have left, they are evil. You're telling me, that your great and powerful Oz is punishing them for this? Like the 400 years of political unrest weren't enough. Save your self-righteous claptrap for the boys and girls of Bristol Myers Squibb and other pharmaceutical agencies—all the other corporations that have raped and pillaged without a thought of lending a hand, unless it could make them a profit. Good PR. Aren't they the real devils, the real evil. i applaud Ms. Milano for her call-out. And in a economic climate such as we are in, how can nameless, faceless and unemployed folks like myself be asked to scrounge a couple of extra pennies to send to the Red Cross or any other reputable charity, when there is so much to go around up there where the air is rare?...

here's to Dalembert and Milano, and any other celebrity that uses their worth and popularity to stoke a fire under a corporation. And here's a gas face to pat Robertson, who has shown us what kind of "Christian" he really is...
